Education:
- He attended Bangshika Primary
School where he obtained his First School-Leaving Certficate in 1979
recording First Call in the General Common Entrance Examination in the
state. He later proceeded to Bazza Teachers College where he obtained
the Grade II Certificate with Distinctions in 1983. He later obtained the
Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) A level in 1985 from College of
Preliminary Studies, Yola. He later proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University
Zaria and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc), Accounting
in 1988. He proceeded for his NYSC in Anambra state from 1988-1989.
He was back to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria for a Master's Degree in
Business Administration (MBA) in 2003. To further build on his capacity, he
proceeded to Coventry University, United Kingdom where he obtained
HND in Business Continuity Management in 2008. He then delved into
Theological circle and in 2010 and 2020 he obtained Post Graduate
Diploma in Theology and Master of Arts in Theology (Missions and
Evangelism) respectively both from Jos ECWA Theological Seminary
(JETS).
Experience:
- Rvd. Wuranti has an extensive central banking experience spanning over three decades. He worked briey with the Adamawa State
Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, Yola from 1989-1990 before joining the services of the Central Bank of Nigeria
on 25th October 1990. His professional experience covers Nigerian Debt Conversion Scheme where he managed billion of
naira portfolio and assisted the funding of Nigerian businesses, Strategy Management, Currency Management, Risk
Management, Human Resource Management etc.
Mr. Wuranti reached the zenith of his professional career in the Bank and became a Director of the CBN before his voluntary
retirement in 2021. Before then, he was Group Head, IT & Payment System Risk, Currency Operations Management, Head,
Currency Policy and Development as well as Head, Business Process Management.
Rev. Wuranti is a member of the Business Continuity Institute (MBCI) UK; Fellow, Certied Cost Management of Nigeria; Member,
Nigerian Institute of Management. He is a certied Lead Quality Auditor, Quality Management System (BSI) ISO 9001: USA;
Member, Risk Management Association of Nigeria (RIMAN), Lead Implementer, Business Continuity Management System (ISO
22301:2019), Lead Implementer, Information Security Management System (ISO/IEC 27001:2013). He possesses a combined
31 years' work experience in Central Banking leading successful & productive teams. He was Team lead and member of several
Projects implemented by the Bank including Project EAGLES, Project ACE, BCIS Project, Currency Restructuring, Currency
Redesign, Nigerian Cash Management Scheme, Crypto currencies, Blockchain and Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), Risk
Management Committees etc.
Rvd. Wuranti received extensive training and built skills in strategic Management, currency management, payments systems and
risk management, cyber security, project management, business process management, leadership, performance management,
conict resolution, negotiation, human resources management among others. His exposure and training had carried him to the
Middles East, Africa, Canada, Germany, Netherland, United Kingdom, United States of America, South Korea and Australia
among other countries. He received awards and commendations during his career trajectory in the Bank such as the Governor's
Best Performance Award, CBN Board of Directors Award, Most Outstanding Government Representative of the year- Embassy
of Ecuador and Young Journalist Forum, Long Meritorious Service Awards in 2000 (ten years), 2010 (twenty years) and 2020
(thirty years).
Until his retirement, Rvd. Wuranti was a Board Member of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC) representing the
Central Bank of Nigeria. He was among the Board members who successfully led delegates to the recently concluded
pilgrimage to the Kingdom of Jordan. Wuranti is happily married to Mrs. Serah Wuranti.
